Basic chili recipe I've been using for years. Original recipe calls for ground beef. Serving size is a little bit over 1 cup. Ingredients:
1 tbsp. olive oil |
1 lb. ground turkey, lean |
1 large onion, chopped |
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped |
1 clove garlic, minced |
32 ounces tomatoes , 2 cans |
8 ounces tomato sauce |
12 ounces light beer |
2 tsp. cumin |
1 tsp. salt |
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper |
2 tsp. chili powder |
15 ounces kidney beans , 1 can, drained. |
Directions:
1. Saute meat, onion, pepper, and garlic. Drain excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients except beans. 2. Heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours. Stir occasionally. Stir in beans, heat through. |
