Turkey Burger With Guacamole |

Skip the fast food and make the ultimate homemade burger for a lot less money. This recipe calls for Wholly Guacamole which is made with mashed avocados, jalapeno puree (white vinegar and jalapeno peppers), onion, salt and garlic. Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey |
4 slices low-fat swiss cheese |
4 wheat hamburger buns, toasted |
4 tablespoons wholly guacamole (or use your own) |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
4 tablespoons green chilies, chopped |
2 tomatoes, sliced |
1 red onion, sliced |
Directions:
1. Preheat grill, or stove top grill pan, over medium high heat. 2. Combine turkey, salt and pepper; shape into 4 equal patties a little larger than the buns. 3. Cook burgers until lightly charred on outside, about 4 minutes; flip. 4. Place a tablespoon of the chilies on each patty and cover with a slice of cheese. 5. Cook until burger is firm, about 4 minutes more. 6. Meanwhile place tomato and onion on buns. 7. Top with cooked burger, dollop a generous spoonful of guacamole and the top bun. |
