I haven't made these yet but will try them for my boyfriend, who must restrict cholesterol and saturated fat. I think I'd try adding 1 or 2 Tbls ketchup, some black and/or cayenne pepper, and maybe a little mustard. I would also use fresh garlic and a little soy sauce instead of the garlic salt. Ingredients:
1 cup all-bran cereal, kellogg's original |
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce, preferably lea and perrins |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 egg white |
1 lb lean ground turkey |
Directions:
1. Combine cereal, onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and egg white. Let stand until cereal softens (approximately 3-4 minutes). Gently stir in ground turkey and portion mixture into six patties; over-mixing will toughen the meat. 2. Grill, broil, or pan fry about 4 minutes on each side or until browned and no longer pink (170 F°). |
