This is a delightful recipe that makes almost little tuna fish pizzas or half bagels. Kids will have fun making this! Use your favorite cheese! Ingredients:
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna packed in water, drained |
3 tablespoons mayonnaise, or to taste |
1 teaspoon celery salt |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/3 cup chopped celery |
1/3 cup chopped onion |
1/4 cup chopped yellow bell pepper |
2 tablespoons butter |
3 english muffins, split |
6 slices american cheese |
6 slices fresh tomato |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). 2. Flake the tuna into a medium bowl. Mix in the mayonnaise, celery salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir in celery, onion, and yellow bell pepper. 3. Butter English muffin halves, place them on a baking sheet, and bake 3 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. Remove from oven. Spoon tuna mixture onto each muffin half, and top each with a slice of cheese. Return to the oven, and continue baking until the cheese has melted, about 8 minutes. Remove, and top each with a tomato slice to serve. |
