It seems I have a trend going creating a new recipe when a tropical storm or hurricane hits here in SE Texas. This year with Edouard on the I wanted to have a good hearty meal in case the power went out. Those of you who don't care for cream of soups should avoid this or find substitutes. Ingredients:
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup |
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can french onion soup (i used dominique's) |
8 sirloin steaks, portions |
3 tablespoons flour |
1/2 cup water |
16 ounces cooked egg noodles |
Directions:
1. Place steak portions in a Dutch oven. 2. Mix soups in a bowl. 3. Pour sous over steak. 4. Season with black pepper. 5. Bring to a simmer on the stovetop. 6. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. 7. Add flour dissolved in the water. 8. Simmer 1/2 hour more. 9. Serve over egg noodles (I used no yolk by mistake but no one noticed). |
