This protein-packed pick-me-up is thickened with silken tofu. To make things easy, look for pre-cut pineapple in the produce section of your grocery store. If you have a sensitive stomach or acid reflux, skip the pineapple. Ingredients:
1/2 cup sliced mango, skin removed (about 1 mango) |
1/2 cup silken tofu (about 6 ounces) |
1/4 cup cubed pineapple |
2 kiwi fruits, sliced and skin removed |
1/2 cup orange juice |
5 ice cubes |
Directions:
1. Add the mango, tofu, pineapple, kiwi, juice and ice to the blender. Mix together on high speed. 2. Makes 2 smoothies. 3. VARIATIONS:. 4. Substitute soy milk or rice milk for the tofu, and about 5 to more ice cubes to thicken. Try replacing the orange juice with pineapple juice or guava juice. You can also toss in 1/2 cup strawberries. |
