I have to make these every Christmas for my kids. They LOVE them! A Hershey's recipe. Ingredients:
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup light corn syrup |
1 egg |
1/2 tsp. orange or lemon extract |
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract |
9 oz. white almond bark chocolate plus 1-2 oz for glaze(this comes in a big bar or hershey's vanilla milk chocolate chips |
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 tsp. baking soda |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 to 1-1/4 cups finely ground pecans |
vanilla glaze: recipe follows |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 3. Add corn syrup, egg, orange and vanilla extracts; blend well. 4. In small microwave bowl, place 9 oz. chopped white chocolate. 5. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until smooth when stirred vigorously; blend into butter mixture. 6. Stir together, flour, baking soda and salt; add to vanilla mixture, blending well. 7. Refrigerate 1 hour or until dough is firm enough to handle. 8. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in nuts, pressing nuts into dough lightly. 9. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. 10. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden around edges. 11. Cool several minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. 12. (During this time, cookies will flatten and set.) 13. Cool completely. Drizzle glaze over each cookie. Makes about 5 dozen. 14. Vanilla Glaze: In small microwave-safe bowl, place 1-2 oz white chocolate. Microwave on high 1 minute; stir vigorously until smooth when stirred. Take a fork and randomly drizzle over cookies. |
