delicious coconut almond bon bons Chill time is cook time. Ideas for gelatin flavors, pineapple, lime, orange. I like to use almond or coconut flavored gelatin that can be found in Asian markets. Ingredients:
8 ounces marzipan (such as solo) |
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk |
3 ounces flavored gelatin |
4 drops food coloring, depends on gelatin used, green, yellow, orange etc |
1 1/2 cups coconut |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1/2 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Line a 13x9 baking pan with waxed paper. In a large bowl knead marzipan with fingers to soften. Stir in condensed milk until well combined. 2. Add gelatin mix and food coloring, stirring until blended. Add coconut, breaking up large clumps with fingers. Stir in powdered sugar a little at a time, using fingers if necessary, when the mixture becomes stiff. 3. Place sugar or decorating crystals in a small shallow bowl. Pinch off heaping teaspoons of dough and roll into 3/4 inch balls. Roll in sugar and place on prepared pan. Refrigerate, lightly covered, 8 hours or overnight. Store in airtight container with waxed paper between layers, at cool temperature for up to 2 weeks. |
