A refreshing tropical gelatin salad that can be made the day before. Ingredients:
first layer |
1 3 ounce package lemon flavored gelatin |
2 cups boiling water |
2 sliced bananas |
maraschino cherries (optional) |
1 cup mini-marshmallows |
1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained reserving juice |
second layer |
2 tablespoons flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 cup pineapple juice |
1/2 cup margarine |
1 beaten egg |
1 cup sour cream |
third layer |
12 ounces grated cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. First Layer 2. Add water to gelatin, dissolve and cool in a 9 x 13 inch pan. 3. When gelatin is set add bananas, cherries, mini marshmallows and pineapple. 4. Chill until firm 5. Second Layer 6. Mix flour and sugar into boiling juice. 7. Stir until slightly thickened. 8. Add margarine and mix in egg. 9. Cool 10. Fold in sour cream and spread on first layer (gelatin layer) 11. Third layer 12. Top with 1/2 inch of grated Cheddar cheese. |
