From Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications, Easy Family Food Ingredients:
2/3 cup light mayonnaise (or salad dressing) |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
12 ounces cooked chicken breast strips, refrigerated, cooked, chopped |
1 cup apple, cored, chopped |
8 lettuce leaves |
12 bread, wheat, whole, toasted |
1 tomato, large, sliced |
8 slices bacon, packaged cooked, ready-to serve |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise and pepper. Stir in chicken and apple. Place a lettuce leaf on 4 of the toasted bread slices. Top lettuce with tomato slices and bacon, then another slice of bread. Top with remaining lettuce; spoon chicken mixture on lettuce. Top with remaining bread slices. 2. For smaller sandwiches, use 8 slices bread and 4 lettuce leaves. assemble sandwiches as directed, omitting the middle layer of bread and lettuce. |
