This is one of those simple roasted vegie recipes that make you wonder why you didn't think of this years ago! It was by accident I discovered my roasting forgotten beets taste like candy. So simple, so good, and so good for you! Serve with butter, salt and pepper, or olive oil and lemon juice, or as is! And since Zaar doesn't allow just one ingredient I had a glass of wine while cooking this. Ingredients:
3 raw beets |
8 ounces white wine |
Directions:
1. Serve yourself a glass of wine. 2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 3. Line a small baking pan with aluminum foil. 4. Pop the unskinned beets into the pan and then into the oven. 5. Roast for at least 1.5 hours, or until soft and almost squishy with wrinkling skins. 6. Remove from the oven and when cooled a bit, skin them under running water so your hands don't get stained. 7. Slice or serve whole. 8. You can butter them or sprinkle with olive oil. 9. Serve yourself another glass of wine with dinner, too! |
