Great Halloween food idea. I replaced the 1 lightly beaten egg with 1/4 cup egg white. Ingredients:
1/2 lb lean ground beef |
1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped |
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cubed |
1/4 teaspoon prepared mustard |
2 (16 1/3 ounce) containers ready-to-bake refrigerated buttermilk flaky biscuits |
1/4 cup egg white |
Directions:
1. Cook beef and onion over medium heat in large skillet. 2. Drain excess fat. 3. Add cheese and mustard and cook until cheese is melted. 4. Cool slightly. 5. Flatten each biscuit into a 4 inch circle. 6. Please four biscuits in each of 2 greased 15x10x1 baking pans. 7. Spoon 2 tablespoons of meat mixture onto each. 8. Cut out jack-o-lantern faces from the remaining biscuits using a knife or cookie cutters. 9. Place over the meat mixture and pinch the edges to seal. 10. Reroll scraps and cut out stems for pumpkins. 11. Brush with egg. 12. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. |
