Treebeards is located in Houston, Texas. This is a delicious cake . This is a Copy Kat recipe!. Although I use no box cake mixes, I thought some of you may enjoy this one! Ingredients:
1 (18 oz.) box yellow cake mix |
1/2 c. butter, melted |
1 egg |
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar |
2 eggs |
2 tsp. vanilla |
9 oz. cream cheese |
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. To make the crust generously spray a jellyroll pan with Pam. 2. With an electric mixer, blend dry cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg on low speed until moistened. 3. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes, and pat onto bottom and side of the jellyroll pan, set aside. 4. To make the filling mix 3 1/3 cups powdered sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cream cheese until ingredients are moistened. 5. Carefully cover mixer with a large, clean kitchen towel. 6. Turn mixer on high for 5 minutes. 7. Turn mixer to low speed and remove towel. 8. Add remaining 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and mix until well blended. 9. Replace the towel and return mixer to high speed, and beat for an additional 5 minutes. 10. Pour mixture over crust in pan and spread evenly. 11. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until golden brown. 12. When cool, slice into squares. |
