Have made this all my life - even whilst still at school, where we sold some in the playground to friends. A great favourite with m y Son, who still makes it himself to this day. good at any time, especially Halloween Ingredients:
2 lbs. brown sugar |
2 lbs. black treacle |
1/2 lb. margarine |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients together into a pan, allow to dissolve slowly, stirring all the time. 2. Bring mixture to boil and allow to boil for 5 minutes, again stirring. 3. Test a drop of mixture in a saucer of cold water for Brittleness 4. When o.k. Turn into a greased bakin g tin and allow to set and go cool. 5. When almost set, mark squares or oblongs with a knife, cuting right through the mixture. 6. When perfectly set it may be broken into pieces 7. ENJOY |
