Ingredients:

1 (20 ounce) package devil's food cake mix (duncan hines' moist deluxe preferred)

3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)

1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)

1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)

1 (15 ounce) container chocolate frosting (duncan hines' creamy home-style classic preferred)

1 (2/3 ounce) package white glossy decorating gel

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F
2. Grease and flour 10-inch round cake pan.
3. Prepare cake according to package directions for basic recipe.
4. Bake at 350°F 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
5. Cut cake and remove 2-inch slice from center.
6. Arrange cake as shown.
7. Spread chocolate frosting on sides and top of cake.
8. Make white frosting laces on football, using decorating gel.
