Tortilla Soup

This toritlla soup recipe originally took much more time and steps to make. However, not all of us have a lot of time, so I changed the recipe to make it simpler.
Ingredients:
4 cans chicken broth
2 onions (chopped)
2 tomatoes (largely chopped)
1 avocado (sliced)
2 cups tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheese
1 teaspoon red pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
cilantro
olive oil
salt
pepper
Directions:
1. In a stockpot, heat the olive oil and add the onions, salt, pepper and red pepper.
2. Cook for about 10 minutes.
3. Add the chicken broth, tomatoes and lemon juice.
4. Let it boil.
5. Cover, then let simmer for 25 minutes.
6. In the individual serving bowls, place 1/2 cup of cheese, 2 slices of avocado and 1/2 cup of the tortilla chips.
7. Fill the bowl with the soup mixture and top with a sprig of cilantro.
8. Serve.
