Tortilla Black Bean Cassarole

I have been using this recipe for years. clipped it from a magazine but don't know which. This is HER award winning Tex-Mex favorite. Thank you Merry for many happy meals from this one recipe.
Ingredients:
2 cups chopped onions
1 1/2 cups chopped green peppers
1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
3/4 cup picante sauce
2 garlic cloves
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 (15 ounce) cans black beans
12 tortillas
2 cups monterey jack cheese
diced tomato
diced green onion
salsa
sour cream
shredded lettuce
olive
Directions:
1. In large skillet combine first 6 ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce & simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Add drained & rinsed beans.
2. In 13x9 pan layer 1/3 bean mixture, 6 of the tortillas*, 1 c cheese, 1/3 bean mixture, 6 tortillas, last 3rd of bean mixture. (*overlap tortillas as necessary).
3. Cover & bake 350 for 30 minutes. Remove cover, spread last cup of cheese & return to oven for 10 minute
4. Remove and let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Serve with optionals.
