From my collection of handwritten recipes 1964. Ingredients:
3 lbs beef short ribs |
1/4 cup flour |
2 tablespoons shortening |
1 (10 ounce) can condensed beef broth |
1 cup dried apricot |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon allspice |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
Directions:
1. Dust ribs with flour; brown in shortening in a large, heavy pan. Pour off excess drippings. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Cover. Cook over low heat about 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turning ribs and basting with sauce occasionally. |
