From my collection of handwritten recipes 1960's. Note: The frosting mix is a standard size package. Ingredients:
1 (18 1/4 ounce) yellow cake mix |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
2 eggs |
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling |
1 package coconut, almond or 1 package coconut pecan frosting |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Combine cake mix, butter and eggs until dry ingredients are well mixed. Pat into 13x9 inch baking dish; grease on bottom only: top with cherry pie filling. Combine frosting mix with butter; sprinkle over cherries. Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. |
