Looks really really close to what it should have in it to me - not tried it yet - but I know Packo's has lard in it too. UPDATE _ I tried this - it needs jazzed up some. good, bland, basic sauce. When I fix it - I'll edit it again. Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef |
1/2 tablespoon thyme |
2 garlic cloves, finely minced |
1/2 tablespoon cumin |
1 dash cayenne pepper |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
3 cups water |
1 tablespoon black pepper |
1 tablespoon hungarian paprika (no substitutes!) |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef, breaking into very small pieces as it cooks. 2. Drain off fat. 3. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 1 hour or until desired consistency. 4. Note: Originally served over half a Polish sausage, not a hotdog. |
