Adults only! Adapted from Morey Amsterdam's Benny Cooker Crock Book. Although the title comes from a joke from Amsterdam's night club act, the recipes are all genuine. Cooking time is standing time. Ingredients:
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons bourbon |
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped |
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped |
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel |
6 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and thinly sliced |
Directions:
1. Combine oil, salt, bourbon, basil, parsley and lemon peel, and mix well. 2. Arrange tomatoes on a platter and sprinkle dressing over them. 3. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. |
