This is a good old time recipe.My Grandmother made this alot. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups white sugar |
2 large eggs |
1 (11 ounce) can tomato soup |
3/4 cup water |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
3/4 cup vegetable shortening |
3 cups white flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
Directions:
1. preheat oven 350. 2. Mix in 2 seperate bowls dry ingredients then wet ingredients. Combine together and mix well. 3. Pour batter into desired pans. For 9x11 pan cook 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean at center. For 2 9inch rounds cook 27-32 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. 4. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm. Or chill and then frost with cream cheese frosting,vanilla,buttercream,or carmel frostings. |
