I like trying different things to do with the tomateos in my garden. I made up this recipe for my crock pot. Ingredients:
5 lbs tomatoes |
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish |
1/2 teaspoon mild tabasco sauce |
salt & pepper |
5 ounces tomato paste |
Directions:
1. Boil water to dip tomatoes. 2. Wash tomatoes. Dip in boiling water 30 to 60 seconds. Immediately dip in cold water. Slip off skins. Trim away any green areas & stems. 3. Cut tomatoes add to crock pot and add all ingredients. 4. Cook on high for 4 hours. 5. Strain seeds and pulp out and return to crock pot. 6. Cook for 2 hours. 7. Serve with a side of rice or toasted cheese sandwitch. |
