Old family recipe from Aunt Dorothea. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 cups white bread, cubed |
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato puree |
1/4 cup water |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Melt butter and pour over bread and toss. Heat the tomato puree, water, salt, and brown sugar. Simmer 5 minutes and pour over bread crumbs. Toss. Bake at 350 degrees in covered casserole for 45 minutes. |
