My aunt's recipe. This is best the next day Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (or turkey) |
1 cup celery |
1 onion, diced |
1 cup carrot, chopped |
1 tablespoon fresh coarse ground black pepper |
2 bay leaves |
5 3/4 cups tomato juice |
4 cups hot water |
1 cup dry lentils |
2 beef bouillon cubes |
1 garlic clove |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Brown meat and drain fat. 2. Saute celery and onion until tender. 3. Add rest of ingredients. 4. Cook 2 hours or until lentils are soft. |
