i found this recipe in good housekeeping magazine many years ago.....it is very yummy!i have changed a couple things to add updated ingredients. Ingredients:
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 package coleslaw mix |
1 vidalia onion, diced |
4 shallots, sliced |
1 (46 ounce) can tomato juice |
1 (14 ounce) can hunts diced garlic balsamic & olive oil diced tomatoes |
4 cups water |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper |
3 cups chopped ham |
1 tablespoon chili paste |
Directions:
1. cook cabbage,onions,shallots in olive oil, till limp. 2. add juice,tomatoes,water,sugar,lemonĂ® juice,salt and pepper. 3. add chili sauce. 4. simmer 1 hour. 5. add ham in last 15 minutes of cooking. |
