This dish is one of the popular dishes serves in our local Chinese restaurant; it is also kid’s friendly meal. For healthy version you can do away salted fish or if salted fish not available you can replace with dried shrimp or anchovies. Read more . Check out my blog for step by step illustration. Ingredients:
ingredients |
100g minced meat |
2 tbsp salted fish cubes |
1/2 tbsp chopped garlic |
2 blocks of square soft tofu, cubed and blanched for a while |
2 tbsp oil |
garnish with 1 tbsp chopped spring onion (optional) |
seasoning |
1 tbsp light soya sauce |
1 tbsp oyster sauce |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 tsp sugar |
dash of pepper and sesame oil |
100ml water |
1 tsp corn flour mixed with 2 tbsp water for thickening |
Directions:
1. METHOD: 2. 1. Heat up oil; pan-fry salted fish until golden brown and fragrant. Dish and drain. 3. 2. Sauté chopped garlic until fragrant. Add minced meat and stir-fry until aromatic. 4. 3. Add tofu, salted fish, seasoning and bring to boil. 5. 4. Thicken with corn flour water, garnish with spring onion, dish up and serve hot. 6. Tips: 7. Blanching tofu helps to prevent bean curd from breaking up while frying. |
