tofu Ingredients:
12 ounce firm tofu |
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 medium onion, chopped |
2 mushrooms, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 egg, beaten |
1/4 cup shredded swiss cheese |
Directions:
1. If you prefer a more meat-like appearance and texture, freeze the tofu at least a day before making this recipe. Thaw the tofu, drain excess liquid and crumble it by hand. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 3. Chop or crumble the tofu into very small pieces 4. Heat olive oil in small skillet. Lightly saute onion, mushrooms and garlic. Place in a medium bowl and add chopped/crumbled tofu. 5. Mix in egg, cheese, salt and pepper until thoroughly combined. 6. Drop tofu mixture onto greased or non-stick baking sheet in 6 portions. Flatten with spatula to form patties. 7. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Top with your favorite toppings. |
