This is a sensational coffeecake recipe that I picked up from an innkeeper at a bed and breakfast I visited in Longview, Texas about 5 years ago. We love it. Hope you do as well. Ingredients:
toffee coffeecake |
1/2 cup butter softened |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
2 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup buttermilk |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
3 chocolate toffee candy bars chopped |
1/4 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl blend butter, sugars and flour then set aside 1/2 cup. 2. To the remaining butter mixture add buttermilk, egg, baking soda and vanilla then mix well. 3. Pour into a greased and floured rectangular baking pan. 4. Combine chopped candy and pecans with reserved butter mixture and sprinkle over coffeecake. 5. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes then cool on wire rack. |
