Toffee Bars With Coconut and Almonds |

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 cup sifted flour |
2 large eggs, beaten |
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup shredded coconut |
1 cup chopped almonds |
Directions:
1. Mix crust ingredients thoroughly. 2. Press into bottom of ungreased 9x13 inch pan. 3. Bake 10 minutes at 350°. 4. Topping: Stir eggs into brown sugar and vanilla. 5. Mix flour, baking powder and salt and stir into egg mixture. 6. Mix in coconut and nuts. 7. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes until topping is golden brown. 8. Cool, cut into bars. |
