Another recipe from . This is a very good dish! It would be great for church socials or dinner parties. Ingredients:
8 slices bread |
margarine |
1/2 lb ground beef |
1/4 cup onion, chopped |
2 tablespoons celery, chopped |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup sharp american cheese, shredded |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
3/4 cup milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Toast bread; butter both sides. 3. Cook and stir meat, onion, celery, prepared mustard and 1/2 teasooon salt until meat is brown and onion is tender. 4. Alternate layers of toast, meat mixture and cheese in greased baking pan. 5. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over layers in pan. 6. Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes. 7. Add paprika on top if you desire. |
