A nice hearty loaf. Great served warm. Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 cup whole wheat flour |
1/3 cup sugar |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup egg substitute |
1 cup nonfat milk |
1/4 cup canola oil |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped |
Directions:
1. Combine flours, sugar, baking powder and salt. 2. Combine egg, milk, oil and vanilla. Stir into dry mixture just until moistened. Fold in nuts. 3. Transfer to an 8x4x2-inch loaf pan coated with nonstick spray. 4. Bake at 350 degrees 50-55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. |
