Adapted from Vegetarian Planet, this is so good served with noodles, as a dip for raw vegetables, or as a sauce for noodles or ravioli. Ingredients:
1/2 cup sesame seeds |
2 tablespoons dark sesame oil |
2 tablespoons tahini (optional) |
1 large garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced |
3 tablespoons rice vinegar |
2 tablespoons honey |
5 tablespoons soy sauce |
1/4 cup water |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350* F. 2. Toast sesame seeds on a baking sheet 10-15 minutes, until most of the seeds turn a rich brown(watch carefully so as not to burn). 3. Let cool. 4. In a spice grinder(or coffee grinder) or food processor, grind about half the sesames seeds in a batches. 5. Combine the ground and whole sesame seeds in a bowl. 6. Add remaining ingredients, and whisk well. 7. Put the sauce into a jar and seal it. 8. Let the sauce sit for 1 hour while flavors mix. 9. You can store sauce in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. 10.
