Use your favorite flavor of commercial sugar-free jelly or jam, or make your own with the recipes on pages 38-39. We analyzed for Smucker's sugar-free preserves, with 5 grams of carbohydrate per tablespoon. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter |
1 (1-ounce) slice reduced-carb whole wheat bread (such as arnold) |
1 tablespoon sugar-free preserves or jelly |
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler. 2. Spread peanut butter over bread. Broil 2 to 3 minutes or until bread is lightly toasted and peanut butter melts slightly. Top with preserves. 3. Note: The bread we analyzed for in this recipe has 9 grams of carbohydrate and 3 grams of fiber per slice. 4. carbo rating: 13 |
