Easy, delcious and impressive Ingredients:
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese - softened |
2 cups heavy cream - divided |
2 tbs. coffee liqueur or marsala |
2/3 cup powdered sugar |
3 tbs. cocoa |
1 tbs instant coffee granules |
1 angel food cake - prepared or store bought |
3 tbs . coffee liqueur or marsala |
grated chocolate |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, using medium speed of an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. 2. Add 1 cup whipping cream. 2 Tbs. coffee liqueur, powder sugar, cocoa and coffee granules; beat until fluffy. 3. Beat remaining 1 cup whipping cream into cream mixture. 4. Cut cake horizontally into 3 equal layers. 5. Place bottom cake layer on serving plate. 6. Drizzle with 1 Tbs coffee liqueur. 7. Spread with 1 1/2 cups of cream mixture. 8. Repeat layering procedure with second layer, coffee liqueur and cream cheese mixture. 9. Top with third cake layer and drizzle with remaining liqueur. 10. Spread remaining cream cheese mixture over top and sides of cake. 11. If desired, a small amount of the mixture may be reserved to pipe a decorative design onto cake. 12. Sprinkle with grated chocolate. 13. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours . 14. May be frozen Serves 8-10. 15. Garnish with strawberries if desired |
