Easy to make this beautiful cheescake not only looks good but tastes delicous .......happy 4th
Ingredients:
1 - quart strawberries, divided.
1- 1/2 - cups boiling water
2 -pkg ( 4-serving size each) jello-o brand strawberry flavor gelatin
1 -cup cold water plus ice cubes
1 -pkg -( 12 ounces) pound cake , cut into 10 slices
1-1/3 - cups blueberries, divided
2 - pkg ( 8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 - cup sugar
1 - ( 8 ounce) carton of whipped topping ( cool whip)
Directions:
1. Slice 1 cup of the strawberries; set aside.
2. Half the remaining 3 cups of strawberries and set aside.
3. Bring water to a boil and pour into a large bowl with the dry gelatin mixes stir at least 2 minutes until all is dissolved…….
4. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 2 cups, add to gelatin; stir until ice is melted...
5. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until the gelatin is slightly thickened (consistency of an unbeaten egg)
6. Meanwhile, line bottom of 13 x 9 inch glass pan with cake slices…
7. Add sliced strawberries and 1 cup of the blueberries to thickened gelatin…stir gently
8. Spoon over the cake slices…..
9. Refrigerate 4 hours until set…
10. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth…..
11. Stir in whipped topping……..
12. Spread mixture over the gelatin…..
13. Arrange the blue berries and strawberries.. To create a flag
14. Makes 20 servings
