an easy but tasty cheese spread for your next party........this is a make ahead cheese spread ........from 8 hours to 2 days Ingredients:
2 - packages ( 8 ounces) cream cheese, softened |
1 - cup sour cream |
3 - tablespoons brown sugar |
1 - tablespoon grated lemon peel |
3/4 - teaspoon of ground ginger |
1/2- cup crushed pineapple. (well drained) |
1/2 cup apricot preserves.........or you can use peach preserves |
assorted crackers and fresh fruit slices or chunks |
Directions:
1. line a 3 - cup decorative mold or bowl with plastic wrap. 2. combine cream cheese and sour cream in a large bowl; beat until creamy. ( do not over beat it ). 3. add brown sugar, lemon peel,and ginger;stir until well blended. 4. spoon cheese mixture into a prepared mold........... 5. cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 8 hours or up to 2 days ahead of serving............ 6. to serve unmold cheese onto a plate 7. mix pineapple and apricot together and spoon some over the cheese and all around it 8. serve with crackers and fresh fruits...................enjoy .......... 9. note from tink; ......sometimes i add nuts of your choice in the sauce or in the cheese spread depends on my mood that day... hahahaha |
