The following is a recipe for Thousand Islands dressing as actually prepared in restaurants in the Thousand Islands area in New York. Mkes a lot but it will go fast!
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 pinch ground cloves
1 qt (that is correct) mayonnaise
3/4 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup chopped black olives
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
Directions:
1. Place eggs in a saucepan, cover with cold water, bring to a boil and remove from the heat.
2. Let stand for 10 minutes, peel and chop.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and the remaining ingredients until smooth (no streaks).
4. Chill for an hour and serve over fresh greens, burgers or whatever strikes you.
