Substitution Recipe: Use this recipe as a Heart-Healthy substitute for oil used in salad dressings and in the sauteing process. Source: This is a modification of the Thick Water recipe originally found on the Internet somewhere several years ago. (Dietary > Heart-Healthy/Vegan) - A real life saver! Ingredients:
1 cup water, room temperature |
4 teaspoons cornstarch |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients. 2. Boil to desired thickness. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Cool before recipe use. 5. Add recipe ingredients and use as any cooking oil in any recipe. 6. Notes:. 7. - especially good for the sauteing process. 8. - for a variation try substituting the water with a broth or soup stock. |
