These cookies are supposed to be thick. Don't be afraid....it's only CHOCOLATE. Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups light brown sugar |
1/4 cup shortening |
1/2 pound hershey's® baking chocolate |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 cup milk |
1 teaspoon salt |
3 cups flour |
Directions:
1. In a double boiler, melt chocolate over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and bring to room temperature. 2. In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar with an electric mixer until light. 3. Add chocolate. 4. Add salt, cinnamon and milk. Mix to blend. 5. In a bowl, sift flour and baking powder. 6. Add to chocolate mixture. 7. Add more flour, if needed, to make dough stiff. 8. Drop by tablespoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet 1-inch apart. 9. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes, or until edges are crisp. 10. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks for 20 minutes. |
