Thick and Spicy Barbecue Sauce |

This sauce is amazing. I used it for ribs tonight, and apparently Dr. BBQ uses it as a base for some of his cookoff recipes, adding 1 cup of honey and 1 tbs of hot sauce. I have added some vinegar for my own personal taste Ingredients:
2 cups ketchup |
1 cup dark molasses |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ground mace |
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional) |
1/4 cup vinegar (optional but i like it) |
Directions:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. As soon as the molasses dissolves, the sauce is ready to use. 2. Store in a covered glass jar or plastic container in the refrigerator. |
