My husband and I gave my sister-in-law a cookie cookbook on her 17th birthday many years ago. I photocopied this recipe for myself and ever since then, this has been my sister-in-law's and my favorite chocolate chip recipe. It is an old reliable and delicious recipe! Ingredients:
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter, softened |
1 egg |
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour or 2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, margarine and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. (Dough will be stiff.) Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. 2. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. (Centers will be soft.) Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. |
