The Trellis' Apricot-Almond Bread |

This was a wonderful bread recipe from the Trellis restaurant in Williamsburg, VA. Ingredients:
1 cup sliced almonds |
1/4 cup butter, softened |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3 eggs |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons almond extract |
3 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 cup sour cream |
2 cups chopped diced apricots |
Directions:
1. In a 350-degree oven, toast almonds on baking sheet for 10 minutes. 2. In mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. 3. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well. 4. Add baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and extract. 5. Beat until smooth and add flour 1/2 cup at a time alternately with sour cream. 6. Beat until smooth, then add almonds and apricots. 7. Place in buttered and floured 12 loaf pan. 8. Bake for 1 hour. 9. Allow to cool before removing from pans. |
