The Martine Inn is a 24-room Victorian villa considered a spectacular place for a romantic getaway just 90 minutes south of San Francisco, originally built in the 1890s as a lavish private residence.. These muffins are a lovely bite to serve with morning coffee. The batter can be kept covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Ingredients:
5 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup rolled oats or 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal |
5 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 (15 ounce) box raisin bran cereal |
4 cups buttermilk |
1 cup butter, melted |
1 cup honey |
4 eggs, beaten |
Directions:
1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. 2. Add all the remaining ingredients; mix well. 3. Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to bake. 4. To bake: preheat oven to 400F and line muffin cups with papers. 5. Do not stir batter after being chilled; scoop batter from the top. 6. Fill prepared muffin pans 2/3 full and bake for 15 minutes or until golden. |
