I am almost embarrassed to post this because it is so simple but my kids insisted on it. This is one of the standard breakfasts in our house. my kids always eat three or four bowls Ingredients:
5 cups water |
3 cups quick-cooking oats |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
3 tablespoons butter |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
Directions:
1. add salt to water and bring to a boil. reduce heat and stir in oats. 2. stir in everything else and simmer 6-8 minutes. |
