It was originally passed to me from my mom, but I made a few edits to it to make it seem.... gourmet? Hehe.
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
2 cups yellow onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
5 garlic cloves, chopped
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (8 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (8 ounce) cans chili beans, mild
1 (8 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
2 cups water
1/4 cup chili powder
1 tablespoon lemon pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons ground coffee
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons black pepper
Directions:
1. Brown the ground beef.
2. Combine everything into a crockpot or soup pan and gently simmer overnight or for six to seven hours.
