During college, I paid the bills by working as a martini bartender at the local fancy hotel. By the time I graduated, I'd seen it all. I made more money because I made drinks that people wanted to drink. A good mixologist is not a pretentious one, he is a public advocate. This drink made me more $20 tips than any other. I call it the Cadillac Margarita. You can drink this cocktail at a black tie affair, or pool side. If you were going to serve Donald Trump a margarita, this is what you are pouring. Ingredients:
i didn't pour by ounce, i poured by count. remember, it's the ration that is important here. |
3 patron, or solid quality tequila (you get what you pay for, folks) |
2 grand marnier |
2 fresh squeezed lime juice |
shaker, if you don't have one, use a large glass and stir with a spoon |
ice ice baby |
Directions:
1. Fill your shaker with ice 2. Add tequila, grand marnier and lime juice 3. Shake 4. Strain into a martini glass (or serve on the rocks if you prefer) 5. This is a real drink, if you are making this for someone who isn't a 'drinker', add a 2 count of water to loosen the drink up. 6. *Gather your buddies and drink a few of these babies while watching The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for a true experience. |
