This fruit salad has people very skeptical at first, but once you try it you'll love it! This is a judgement recipe; there's no right or wrong. Add other fruits as you please, just be careful with the mayo; you want it to taste of it barely. Ingredients:
3 bananas, peeled and cut into chunks |
1 (13.25 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained |
2 red apples, cored and cut into bite-sized pieces |
2 granny smith apples, cored and cut into bite-sized pieces |
2 kiwi fruit, peeled and cut into chunks |
3 oranges - peeled, segmented, and cut into bite-sized pieces |
2 tangerines, peeled and segmented |
1 cup mayonnaise (such as hellmann's® or best foods®) |
1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and juice reserved |
1/2 (8 ounce) package chopped walnuts, or to taste |
1/2 cup chopped celery, or more to taste |
1/2 (3.5 ounce) package sweetened flaked coconut, or more to taste |
Directions:
1. Stir bananas, pineapple chunks, red apples, Granny Smith apples, kiwi fruit, oranges, tangerines, mayonnaise, maraschino cherries, walnuts, celery, and coconut together in a large bowl to evenly mix. Pour reserved cherry juice over the mixture and stir. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, about 30 minutes. |
