The Best Gingerbread Ever |

Tried and true. Moist. The Best. Serve with lemon sauce. Ingredients:
3/4 cup melted butter |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
3/4 cup molasses, (i use grandma's) |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2-1/2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
2 teaspoons ginger |
1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. In large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and molasses 2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, soda, baking powder, spices 3. Add to butter, molasses mixture, mixing well 4. Add cup of boiling water, hand mixing while pouring 5. Mix well 6. Pour into a greased and floured 9 X 13 X 2 pan 7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-35 minutes, testing with toothpick 8. Cool in pan 9. Cut in squares and serve with lemon sauce or sweetened whipped cream 10. DELICIOUS! |
