The Best Buttercream Icing |

This recipe came from a caterer. She said she always has requests for the recipe. I have made it for years. Ingredients:
1 box good quality powdered sugar |
1 stick unsalted butter, softened |
1/2 cup crisco |
2 tablespoons cream |
1/2-1 teaspoon almond extract |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon butternut extract |
may omit any of the extracts as well as increase any of the extracts |
Directions:
1. In large mixer bowl, with an electric mixer, combine all ingredients 2. Beat until creamy, creamy, and the right consistency for icing the cake 3. You may add a little more cream or even a little warm water 4. THIS ICING ALSO TINTS BEAUTIFULLY 5. I HAVE MADE IT THE PALEST OF PINKS, THE PALEST OF YELLOWS, AND A DELICATE APRICOT COLOR, BY MIXING YELLOW AND RED 6. BEAUTIFUL WITH FRESH SPRING FLOWERS 7. Check out my JULIES SNOW WHITE CAKE RECIPE.
